Planned Overnight Shutdown – Lerwick District Heating Scheme

We are giving customers early warning of a planned overnight shutdown of the Lerwick district heating network, provisionally scheduled for the last week of August.

This short shutdown is necessary to carry out essential maintenance in our main plant room — work that can only be done safely if we pause the entire network. To minimise disruption, we’re carrying it out during the summer months when heating demand is lower.

• Timing: One night only – from approximately 8:00pm to 6:00am the following morning
• Impact: There will be no heating or hot water during this time

We will be in direct contact with care homes, the hospital, and other large users, but this message is to alert all domestic customers in advance.
