Shetland Heat and Power Ltd (SHEAP) is seeking new Non-Executive Directors to join the Company Board due to rotational retirement.

SHEAP operates the district heating network of underground, insulated pipes which supplies Lerwick homes and businesses with cost effective heating and hot water provided by the Waste to Energy Plant. Owned by Shetland Charitable Trust, our profits are returned to the Trust as gift aid to be distributed for the benefit of the people of Shetland.

The company is currently seeking Non-Executive Directors to provide objective advice, oversee governance and monitor financial controls. The role requires taking a proactive role in strategy development and acting as a mentor to senior staff.

Non-Executive Directors are remunerated by an attendance allowance and expected to attend monthly board meetings as well as participate in additional meetings and email correspondence. The appointment is for an initial 3 year period.

Applications are sought from interested individuals with expertise in any of the following areas: Commercial Operations, Management, Energy, Investment, Finance, Utilities, Public Service and Marketing. Prior Board experience would be an advantage.
