Prepayment Meters and Tariffs from 1st April 2024

A number of our customers have found that using a prepayment meter is an effective way for them to pay for their district heating.

The meters use a smart card.  This is taken to the Post Office counter at Clocktower in Bolts, Mareel or Sound Service Station where credit is added to the card.  The card is then placed on top of the prepayment unit and the credit is transferred.

The prepayment tariff, currently 10p per kWh, is slightly higher than the standard tariff, but there is no cost to the customer to have a prepayment meter installed.

The users handbook is here.
